Brewed with lemon verbena and lemon oil. A crisp double IPA with a distinct lemon essence flavor brought to you from the team of brewers at Stone at 10% abv. Distinct double IPA with a flavor that is defined by some of Stone’s most delicious brews, this is no exception. A special brew to commemorate sixteen years of Stone Brewing. Cheers! To one hundred sixteen more 🙂
Stone’s 11th Anniversary brew ultimately became a regular in their line up and is now known as Sublimely Self Righteous Ale. I hope to see the 16th Anniversary Brew become part of their regular line up soon. Yesterday I found one bomber bottle (22oz) left at the fourth liquor warehouse i tried over two days. It seems that this brew is unanimously delicious. Bravo Stone, keep up the delicious work!
Just poured a glass of 16th Anniversary after having Stone’s Oaked Arrogant Bastard and the lemon is faint on the nose and wipes clean that delicious Oak taste. The second taste has increasing lemon and is even more lovely. The Stone brews, at least the hoppier bolder ones, have a certain flavor that I believe is a direct result of their propriety yeast strain. I still love the Burton Baton, but there is something about that Stone flavor that will always bring me back to the various Stone brews, I think its the yeast, I’m pretty sure.
From my interactions with Dennis (Stone rep, good guy), it does not sound as if there will be a regular version of this brew coming out any time soon, if at all. We need to start a petition and sent to to Stone to let them know just how high the demand is for this delicious brew.
Thankfully I found one last bottle of this and am enjoying it now. We really need to start this petition, its an important brew that should be available whenever. As it was just said to me by one of the experts here, “you can have it over and over and the feeling gets stronger every time. It should be regularly available”, I couldn’t agree more. Anyone know a good petition site?
Having this wondrous Stone creation again tonight, from a small arsenal we bought up when we knew no more was being created or distributed. LemonIPA Heaven.
Happy early birthday to me. WineOh006 surprised me with a bottle of this lemon delicious and we are enjoying it now. We recently saw that the 17th Anniversary Ale is has been released, I wonder if this is available still? I wonder if I could order a sixtel of the 16th Anniversary Ale?

When tasting this, to me, its a double IPA. When you visit StoneBrew.com you discover that it is an Imperial Rye IPA. This, to me, is fascinating… I want to hone my palate so that I can distinguish all of the subtlety and nuance of each amazingly brief flavor.
