Merry Christmas Happy New Year Ale 2012, Anchor Brewing Company, San Francisco, CA
This winter seasonal has a very malty nose with hints of cherry and slight spice; it’s a very deep, dark brown in color. The taste is a flavor adventure starting with a delicious malty hoppiness, going to toasty spice and finishing with an almost leathery taste reminiscent of heavy red wines. To be enjoyed best one at a time, perhaps even as a dessert beer.
