Terrapin Monster Beer Tour Oaked Big Hoppy Monster, Terrapin Beer Company, Athens, GA
This is described as an “Oak Aged Imperial Red Ale”. I was very much looking forward to the taste based on the description and that I have liked every Terrapin brew I have tried. The nose is malty, I sipped and my immediate reaction was ew! This brew is the wrong mix of all the right flavors unfortunately. It tastes like oak, chocolate, rye and malt all mixed together into a bad amalgam of flavors. Terrapin, please pick one or two on which to focus. This one is not for me. It has a deep red pretty color though.
