First I have to say stone is my favorite brewery.. that said…I feel 17th is not much to write home about…German IPA?.
..not sure I get it with a very piney mouth feel…similar to ruinten but not as good. .overall…good but not great.
Having one of these now and this time I’m following Vince’s (Village Idiot) recommendation to use a room temperature Dogfish Head IPA glass. The beer is fabulous to me, I really like it and still liken it to Enjoy By but, with the crispness softened by an earthy dank. I love the Enjoy By crispness and am looking forward to it again, but this is a very nice anniversary ale. I am still hoping for a re-release of the 16th Anniversary but, I’m enjoying this thoroughly. Oh and Vince, I still prefer the frozen glass and how the aromas and flavors unfurl as the glass warms up. Please put a few pint glasses in Village Idiot’s freezer for me for when I visit 🙂

Wow! I like this one. Well, first for everything I guess. I like the 17th Anniversary, I think of it as Enjoy By but with an earthy flavor.
