Ashley’s – Ann Arbor, MI

Making a quick trip to Michigan this weekend. A must stop for me is Ashley’s in Ann Arbor. Amazing tap selection and not a Bud or Miller product to be found.

I started with Short’s (Bellaire, MI) Huma Lupa Licious. Not much in the nose but once you taste it – wow. Nice hops going on.

Next up – Crooked Horse Rye Kwon Do. A wee heavy with rye. Like the Short’s not a lot in the nose but nice malts once you sip it. Feels a little light for a Scotch Ale/ Wee Heavy but that just makes it very drinkable. Maybe a little too drinkable for a 9.75 abv.
