Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout, North Coast Brewing Co. Inc, Fort Bragg, CA

Oh my (I said like George Takei) a goodness that I am enjoying as dessert here at the Shore Diner. The spiced nose doesn’t translate to the palate but, instead it has a chocolatey alcohol finish that rings in at 9% abv. The alcohol flavor is at the end, what the bottle refers to as “a warming finish”, no wonder this has a cult following wherever it is enjoyed. It replaces the cigarette in Jerry O’Connnell’s line from Stand By Me, “Nothing like a(n) Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout after a meal”. Oh my!
