Sensual, Moonlight Meadery, Londonderry, NH
This is a quintessential sweet mead. There is no question you are drinking a honey wine. Unlike many meads, this one does not include adjunct additions of fruit, herbs or spices. The floral complexity of the wildflower honey is wonderful and keeps your taste buds searching for more of the flowers that were visited by those bees. This mead is indeed sweet, but not so sweet as to overpower the other flavors. This was my first Moonlight mead, but not my first mead, and I was duly impressed. Now I need to experience more of their portfolio. This also gives me a worthy target to aim for with my own mead.
