Hitting another brewery on our map, Walnut Brewery in Downtown Boulder is a vast space with brewing activities going on as we blog. They opened in 1990 and have giant wall signs for each of their house beers; the tag line on the sign is ‘Boulder’s First Brewpub’. Their medals are hung on the antlers of an elk head on the wall, appropriate for their Old Elk Brown Ale, the 2010 Gold Medal and 2008 Silver Medal winner – Great American Beer Festival English-Style Brown Ale category. Their 1123 (the address) IPA is citrusy, hoppy, bitter at 80 IPUs, smooth and delicious. Another wonderful Boulder brewery!

Having an Old Elk on nitro now, it creams it up to over-the-top proportions, quite a treat

The Big Horn on cask was exceptionally smooth!
