Morro Castle Porter, Forgotten Boardwalk Brewing, Cherry Hill, NJ

Where do I start with this brew? Out of the five I tasted from FBB this is a homerun! The roasted malt smokey nose is the first thing that stood out to me. At first taste the smoke and dark chocolate undertones are apparent. What followed was what I can only describe as a bold peaty earthy taste with a hint of fruitiness. The brew is extremely drinkable and not overdone on the smoke. Kudos & Cheers!

This is probably my favorite varietal from Forgotten Boardwalk, I want to visit the brewery and ask them to elaborate on all facets of brewing this one. Morro Castle is a contributing brew that lends greatly to the notion that NJ beers really are that good. On behalf of myself and my fellow New Jerseyans, thank you Forgotten Boardwalk-for helping to further quash and reverse any doubt about the quality of brews produced here. We are enjoying this ride so far and I for one can’t wait to see where you take us.
