Although I usually stick to craft brews that come from a place closer to home, I’m a sucker for porter and I really enjoyed the London Porter. When our friends from The Iron Room at Atlantic City Bottle Company @TheIronRoomAC gifted me this one, I was thrilled to try it and am so glad to review it here at BrewBloggers.net. Although I can’t reach MeantimeBrewing.com right now, there seems to be a very active Twitter page at
Twitter.com/MeantimeBrewing, @MeantimeBrewing and also an excerpt from Meantime’s website at johnsbeerguide.com/?p=3339
This is a classic robust porter from England and went deliciously well with this mornings’ brunch burgers. Roasted and lightly burnt coffee flavors in both aroma and flavor, coming in at 6.5% abv. Based on a recipe from 1750, this is a time-honored varietal that I want more of and also look forward to other flavors from this classic, Meantime Brewing Company. For me, visiting Meantime and trying this right from the source is a reason to go to London.
Sounds very good
Definitely a smooth, delicious porter!
