We were honored to be invited to Tuckahoe Brewing’s soft opening of their new brewing location in Egg Harbor Township last night. Although we have been waiting impatiently, it is truly excellent to now have our own home-town brewery (Tuckahoe taps new location) now with even more massive amounts of potential. As the pictures will attest, this is a nice tasting room and brewing location with lots of room for expansion in the future.
I began with the Steelmantown Porter. I am a sucker for porter and this one, I think, would pair nicely with several dishes that I will attempt to prepare this winter. It is your typical working man’s porter and I enjoy that the most about this brew. We also sampled the Pumpkin and as I was told by one Brewblogger, “this is the way pumpkin brew should be, I get nothing but subtle pumpkin flavor and I love it this way”. Our first experience with Tuckahoe Pumpkin was at the Iron Room with Beers For Babes a couple of years ago and I also want to pair this brew with different dinners. We set out to fill a couple of growlers we brought. We were unable to taste anymore and be able to drive home, so I asked Gretchen what she was having. Based on her recommendation I blindly filled a growler with Winter Warmer and I am so glad I did. What a delicious brew! We came home and hosted a few Brewbloggers to taste these growlers with us and it was unanimous, Tuckahoe’s Winter Warmer is worthy of your holiday celebration and high accolades. Thank you Gretchen, you are so right.
Our visit continued with a tour of the facility and exploring what will be off-limits areas in and around the brewery. Our friends and hosts had a very nice party for their friends and family that visited last night and we were thrilled to participate. I know I am not the only one that looks forward to more delicious flavors from Tuckahoe Brewing Company.
