American Tap Room was a recent addition to a very large shopping plaza near our hotel in Richmond, thankfully! They are the “home of 100 beers” and had plenty of taps and bottles, featuring local breweries from NC, VA and MD. They have several locations, and the Richmond scene seemed to be thriving. It was an open air setting with seating indoors and outdoors. A band was setting up while we were perusing the menu. The food we saw go by while we were waiting for our growler fill of Shotgun Betty Hefeweizen (yum) looked delicious. We highly recommend seeking one out on your next trip to VA/MD!
The local Kroger’s craft beer selection was also extensive and we were very excited to find the Stone Richmond Virginia Brewery’s Prototype Stone IPA there. We enjoyed this one very much. It was SO fresh! There will be another trip to Richmond just for breweries!
The Enjoy After 07.04.16 was a bonus pick up from this trip. It was unfortunate we only had one. The complexity from the yeast and the subtle flavors that developed in the brew during the aging process were delectable and unique. If anyone still has this one, it’s drinking beautifully now.
Cheers!
